JOHN S. TEUTSCH, Founder/Partner
John Teutsch founded Teutsch Partners, LLC in 1987 to provide comprehensive real estate services to Pacific Northwest clients. John is directly involved with all aspects of the firm, from setting overall direction to managing projects.

John has been a leader in commercial real estate in the Seattle area since 1981. He has negotiated several million square feet of commercial leases for tenants and landlords, both private and publicly held companies. In addition, he has negotiated the acquisition and disposition of real estate exceeding several hundred million dollars in value, ranging from the sale of Watermark Tower to the purchase of the National Building. In real estate finance, John has raised capital for the firm's own projects, as well as for other developers.

As a developer, John has been a managing general partner in the acquisition, development, leasing, and management of a variety of mixed-use and single-purpose projects in the Seattle area. These include two mixed-use (retail, office, marina) waterfront projects in Seattle on Lake Union and one on the shores of the Puget Sound. John has experience with ground leases and warehouse/industrial projects as well. He has developed and owns over one and a half million square feet of successful warehouse/distribution and office projects in Seattle, Auburn, Renton, Woodinville, and Tukwila. Among the higher visibility projects, all making significant community contributions, are: Chandler's Cove on Lake Union, the Queen Anne High School renovation, Wallingford Center, Shilshole Place and Shilshole Landing.

Prior to founding Teutsch Partners, John was the director of commercial leasing for Cornerstone-Columbia Development Company, a subsidiary of the Weyerhaeuser Company, and a principal at The Norman Company, both located in Seattle.

John holds a law degree from the University of Texas and is licensed to practice law in both Washington and Texas. He also holds a Masters of Science in environmental science from Rice University, and an undergraduate degree in accounting, from the University of Texas at Austin. After finishing law school and obtaining his Masters, John served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas in the Environmental Protection Division. John is the former President and Chairman of the Board of Azle State Bank in Fort Worth, Texas, which under his leadership grew over four years (1977 to 1981) from $17 million to $40 million in total assets, while achieving a return on equity of 23% or better annually. John sold the Azle State Bank in 1981 and moved to Seattle.
