John Teutsch - managing member & founding partner

John has been a leader in commercial real estate in the Seattle area for over thirty years. Prior to founding Teutsch Partners in 1987, John was director of commercial leasing for Cornerstone-Columbia Development Company, a subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser, and a principal at The Norman Company.

John has negotiated the acquisition and disposition of real estate exceeding several hundred million dollars in value and has negotiated several million square feet of commercial leases for tenants and owners. In real estate finance, John has raised capital for the firm’s own projects as well as for other developers. John continues to be responsible for oversight of the Teutsch Partner’s daily operations.

John has been a managing general partner in the acquisition, development, leasing, and management of a variety of mixed-use and single-purpose projects in the Seattle area. These include the 74-unit Nine and Pine Apartments, the 75-unit TraVigne Apartments, the 42-unit Remi Apartments, and the Ballard Landmark, a 151-unit independent senior living facility, winner of the Master Builders Association’s 2009 Built Green Award for Multi-family Development. Other projects include two waterfront developments (retail, office, and marina) in Seattle; Chandler’s Cove on Lake Union and Shilshole Place and Shilshole Landing on the shores of Puget Sound. John also owns and manages Columbia Crossings with three separate marinas, 57 floating home slips, RV and self-storage facilities, and retail and office buildings, situated on Hayden Island on the Columbia River in Portland, Oregon. In addition, John has developed and owns over one and a half million square feet of successful industrial warehouse/distribution and office projects in Seattle, Auburn, Renton, Woodinville, and Tukwila. Among the higher visibility projects making significant community contributions are the Queen Anne High School renovation, and the restoration of the historic Interlake Elementary School into Wallingford Center with two levels of retail shopping and 26, third floor residential units.

Several development projects have been recognized for excellence in the real estate industry including the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason as a Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) finalist for Flex Tech Development of the Year; the Stevens Pavilion, as the winner of the SIOR Office Development of the Year; Harbor Wholesale warehouse and distribution center at Hawks Prairie 111 Corporate Park, winner of the NAIOP 2011 Development of the Year and NAIOP 2011 Finalist for Developer of the Year; and the Nine and Pine Apartments in downtown Seattle, a 2015 NAIOP finalist for Multi-family Development of the Year and Mixed-Use Development of the Year.

John holds a law degree from the University of Texas and is licensed to practice law in both Washington and Texas. He also holds a Masters of Science in environmental science from Rice University, and an undergraduate degree in accounting, from the University of Texas at Austin. After finishing law school and obtaining his Masters, John served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas in the Environmental Protection Division and is the former President and Chairman of the Board of Azle State Bank in Fort Worth, Texas. John sold the Azle State Bank in 1981 and moved to Seattle. John’s professional and community affiliations include: President, NAIOP Washington State Chapter 2016-2017; LAW Fund, Board of Directors; Pacific Real Estate Institute, Past President; Washington State Bar Association, Member of the Real Estate Section; and Texas State Bar Association, Member.


John Walker - principal

John Walker is a partner at Teutsch Partners, LLC, joining the firm in 1990.  John has over 25 years of construction and development experience and manages all development projects for the firm.  John’s product type experience includes medical, multifamily, office, and industrial development.

His diverse background and creativity qualify him to tackle even the most complex and dynamic development processes including site selection, feasibility studies, and construction and development management. John oversees all aspects of a development project from the regulatory entitlement and permit process to lease and purchase and sale negotiations; cost modeling, value engineering, budget and quality control; and scheduling.

Prior to joining Teutsch Partners, John worked for Hensel Phelps Construction Company in Santa Clara, California where his responsibilities included both office and field supervision as well as construction management roles in a variety of projects.  Examples of his work include a 250,000 square foot mixed-use project for Bramalea Pacific in Oakland, CA; the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara; a 270,000 square foot Federal Express sorting and administrative facility in Oakland, CA; an extensive renovation for the Sun Microsystems facilities in CA; Chevron Corporate Headquarters; and the Lockheed Missiles and Space Milstar Satellite facility, in Sunnyvale.

Since joining Teutsch Partners, John has developed a wide range of projects including most recently, the Nine and Pine Apartments in Downtown Seattle, the 1144 Eastlake office building completed in 2002 and Wedgwood Retail Center in 2005; apartment/mixed used developments including The Remi and TraVigne both in Seattle, WA; and industrial/warehouse distribution projects including the 320,000 sq. ft. West Valley 29 Industrial Park in Auburn, WA and the 116,650 sq. ft. East Valley 34 Business Park in Kent, WA.   John’s medical office developments include completion of the Pioneer Medical Center, Moses Lake, WA in 1998; Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason, Seattle, WA in 1999; the Stevens Pavilion, Edmonds, WA in 2003; and The Pavilion at United General Hospital, Sedro Woolley,  WA in 2007.

John holds both a Bachelors of Science in Building Construction as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Economics.

Bryan SYRDAL - Principal

Bryan Syrdal is a partner at Teutsch Partners with over twenty-five years of experience in real estate development and corporate advisory services.  As a consultant, Bryan initially specialized in Tenant Representation, and maintains a breadth of experience representing both tenants and landlords.  As an advisor for comprehensive strategic planning and as a project manager, he applies his background in financial analysis with adroit negotiating skills, and a knowledge of the design and improvement process unique to the role of a Commercial Real Estate Professional. Brian also maintains expertise in the medical office arena, having worked with organizations such as Seattle Radiology, The Polyclinic, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

On behalf of clients, Bryan has completed hundreds of transactions totaling millions of square feet for clients such as Virginia Mason Medical Center, Tommy Bahama Sportswear, Cendant Corporation, Northwest Justice Legal Services, Graham & Dunn, PC, and Gene Juarez Salons. 

Bryan directed the leasing over a million square feet of Class A and medical office space on behalf of landlords and has been involved in a host of manifold investment sales and "build to suit" transactions.  Bryan was a finalist for "Office Broker of the Year" and was consistently listed as a "top 10" producing office broker in the Seattle Metropolitan Area.

As a Developer, Bryan has sponsored over twenty-five real estate partnerships and is experienced in most areas of commercial real estate equity ownership, focusing primarily on value add opportunities for Urban mixed-use properties and ground up multifamily and office development.  He has directed a number of Historic Renovations and one of these projects, The “Kolstrand” Building was internationally acknowledged by the American Institute of Architects, having received its Honor Award.  His current portfolio includes, multi-family, industrial, retail, mixed use residential and commercial office projects.

Bryan graduated from the University of Washington in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Graduate studies include a certificate in Real Estate Law and Finance from the University of Washington. He is currently serving on the board of Directors for ArtsCorps, a youth arts initiative and was formerly board chair of the Red Feather Development Group, focusing on the creation of sustainable homes on Native Lands.  He is a former member of the Seattle Symphony Board of Directors, Seattle Works and the University of Washington Alumni Association.  A few of Bryan’s interests outside of work include travel, fly-fishing, golf, skiing, and art history.


Sally Bellargeon - Controller

Sally Bellargeon (“Sally Mae”) is the Controller at Teutsch Partners, LLC and joined the firm in May of 2000.  She has over 30 years of accounting and operations experience, with 20 years in the real estate industry.  Sally brings strong expertise and a deep working knowledge of all aspects within the real estate industry, including taxation, construction, budgeting, tenant relations, brokerage, staffing, and project management. Outside of work, Sally enjoys volleyball, golfing, hiking, camping, and spending time with friends and family.  Sally is also known for her great cooking skills, often sharing her creations with lucky staff at the firm.

Cindy Miller - Office Manager

Cindy Miller is the Office Manager at Teutsch Partners, LLC, and joined the firm in 2005. She has over 31 years of experience as a Project Coordinator, Executive Assistant, and Office Manager with significant knowledge and experience in all fields of commercial real estate development. Cindy’s past exposure with several prominent, local architectural and commercial real estate development firms has provided her with valuable knowledge of architectural and construction processes including permitting, contract administration, budget tracking, scheduling and on-site construction activities. As well as being renown gardener, Cindy is also a connoisseur of fine spirits and enjoys watching Seahawks games.

Karyn Turner - Adminstrative Staff Assistant

Karyn Turner is part of the Administrative Staff at Teutsch Partners, LLC, and joined the firm in May of 2018. She has over 35 years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Collections, even doing infield repossessions in the past. She previously worked as an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist at Helly Hansen for 17 years, as well as at LECG Corporation for 19 years. Karyn’s previous experience and knowledge allows her to bring unmatched expertise and client relations skills to the accounts receivable department at Teutsch Partners. Karyn enjoys cooking and has a kitchen catering service she hopes will turn into full time hobby once she retires. Karyn also competes in semi-professional bowling tournaments with an average score of 212.
